Now this has nothing to do with PJ making a Tolkien knowledge mistake.
If Aragorn, gimli and Legolas have been persuing the Uruk-hai south west from Amon hen, why would the Uruks be turning Northeast if they are going to Isengard when Isengard lies west???

come on. the guy says Saruman fell from Orthanc and that the Army of the Dead fought in Minas Tirith I would never ever associare PJ to anything of lore.
now the answers could be: 1. PJ made a mistake, among many others or 2. the Orcs had to turn to North East to perhaps come to the road towards to Isengard, perhaps turned north-east to the shallows of a river and then towards Isengard anyway the idea is you mustn't think that Isengard ever was north-east in a direct line
Its clear that PJ was doing an inaccuracy about Tolkien becuase obviously PJ new Isengard lied west and I would imagine that he knows North east south west.
The only thing I can think of is that there was some obsticle that prevented them going west so they had to go round it, thus changing there direction. But to change it by that much is quite significant - they are almost going te opposite way.
just as I said, an obstacle in their way, the problem is there were no big obstacles for example the shallows of the Entwade were NW, and from there onwards there were no more rivers to cross
Yes but to go almost the complete opposite way??? To get into an obstacle of that proportion it would have been easier to miss it altogether - they did not have to cross the Anduin as they captured the hobbits on Amon hen - the west bank.
