Please use this Poll to tell us what would make ye more active on Tolkien Forums. Many members are inactive for unknown reasons.
If the reason ye are inactive is becuase you are waiting until more members come then you must understand that for more members to come ye have to be active - nobody wants to join an inactive forum.

Forgive me O' Great One if I am not allowed to post this but perosnally I feel that some members are inactive becuase they have better alternatives to go to.
That is better as in sites with more members (not the actual site - its the best I have seen!) and sites with more activity, but the fools do not realise that they are the ones that make a site active.
They simply think "Oh I am only one member, what difference will I make?" The simple answer is - "The difference of an active or inactive site".
Again excuse me if I should not have posted this but i have said my peace, and now bow to you.
hmmm...I am sad that many members that used to be active have suddently left the forums...like Atanvarne or Scotta... that is the fact...as long as all people think that they won't join the site cause it is too inactive there will be no way for it to get much more active... and it is indeed a pity that such a good site doesnt stand any chance at all.
I think that it is ashame that people stop being active on a great site like this, just because it doesn't have many members yet. That is why I think that everyone active on the site now needs to try to get people to join the site in any way they can. I think that that is the best way for this site to grow. It will be like a snowball effect; the more active members are on the site, the more people will want to join.
Perhaps if the forums were a little more condensed/concise? There are tonnes of different ones, and I think some people are daft and avoid them altogether because they feel like they have to participate in all of them or something... I feel this is going to be met with a lot of irritation - it's just an idea, I'm probably completely wrong.
no, I think there are few people that want to participate because most of the site is at the time lore...or something like lore maybe more fun activies would bring more people and my idea - an OOME thread I have a lot of OOME ideas but can't do them cause we have no OOME. RPGs...we have enough for the time and maybe more trivia you might say...ok, we'll have games when we have more members that is the trick you need to have games to get the members in the first place.
I completely agree with TM. Games and fun activities make people want to joins sites like this. Some people could get bored if there is pretty much only lore.
TM, the ranking system is based on posts. Someone could post only in OOME, contribute virtually nothing to the scholarly parts of the site, and still be upgraded ranks while doing no work whatsoever. Trust me, I learned that the hard way elsewhere. Perhaps The One knows some way around that fault?
Also, for those of you who want games, I have something in the works that could in the most serious sense of the word be considered a game...I'll let you know when it's ready.
Eonwe has a good point about OoME threads. I don't think that there is away to stop people getting posts for posting in certain threads though. I think that all threads should be ME related anyway, as this site is dedicated to Tolkien after all.
I look forward to seeing this game of yours when it is ready Eonwe. I'm intriged. *ponders what it could be*
The have been looking at the poll results and decided to correct two common problems in one. There is now a Trivia and Debates centre which adds a more exciting feature to the site as well as aids members who are not Lore-inclined.
Also a new Greater Valar has been appointed to help reduce slander to other sites and increase moderation efforts.
As for more topics to reply to, that is down to ye.
Thou views mean alot to the Powers and ye hath the Ultimate say in what goes here. We just want ye to be as active as possible.
Remember the Polls on the Homepage - Use them.
Thank you. The One
