I am really new to tolkien's works I of course was introduced to them through the movies but have become a big fan of his books. I am really interested to learn more about his world and the languages as well.
Well met, I thank you for making me the second newest member to this site. I think you'll find it is akin to Rivendell in that it offers knowledge, wisdom and protection from incivility. If I may ask, what books have you read?

I'm looking forward to your reading more of Tolkien's works. Your fresh new insights will be welcomed and received gladly ... it will give us all fresh perspectives. You say you are "really new to tolkien's works". That is wonderful. As you explore and begin to ask questions your insights will trigger a renewed curiousity in Tolkien and cause many of us to re-visit some old threads.

The Hobbit is a good place to start, nice and easy to read to ease you into things.
The Lord of the Rings is a bit different. Some of it is good but there are some parts that tend to go on a bit. The Silmarillion is a great read.
