Barrowdowns

Are there any details regarding the battle(s) fought on and around Weathertop?  Also, am I amiss in thinking one of the Palantir was in the tower on Weathertop?

Well I can tell you one of the palantiri was in fact place at the tower of Amon Sul (weathertop)
I can also tell you that the tower of Amon Sul was built by Elendil. Acording to the complete guide to middle earth the tower was on the border of three realms; Arthedain, Rhudaur, and Cardolan. And the combined forces of Rhudaur and Angmar took and distroyed the tower in 1409 of the third age.

You're welcome. If we we could get a real good question going. But without somebody giving a link to another place that has it.
Huan, can you think of something? Maybe explore the mystery that is Tom Bombadil :)

Hmm id say that a tough one to tackle. Id say he has the same origins as Ungoliant. Except the exact opposite of her in vertue. My theory is that they both came into Arda the same time as the Valar. There power could arguably be the same as the valar. The maiar at least. But I don't have a reference to back this theory... at this time ;)
