hey everyone! i've been on this website before. a long time ago as gothmog but it was so long ago that i have completly forgot all ties with that acount and so made this one. im still learning as much tokien lore as my mind can handle and im still very confused an many many subjects lol but its good to be back :)

Hi, I'm newer than you, and oh so grateful that this site survived the deadly plague that killed so many sites 2 - 3 years after the film The Return of the King came and went. For years I had hoped for a Tolkien community, got heavily obsessed with 2 sites.. and they were gone. Just like that.
I'm a Hobbit Sherriff by the way. I don't know why the Professor chose to write sherriff incorrectly, but I kept the spelling.

Shirriff is a now obsolete form of Sheriff, but used by Tolkien to make the connexion with Shire plainer. Sheriff hails from shire-reeve, the reeve or local official of the shire or county.
