Yeo

I wanted to introduce myself properly since I know how annoying it is when someone new comes in and starts posting without anyone knwoing who he/she is.
Anyways I'm Loki and though I'm new here, Tolkien is something I have studied many years now.

Now when introductions are done, where are best places to start with?

Greetings Loki, best place to start is whatever topic you are interested in! Although there are a few riddle/trivia type games that are fairly regular you might want to join in with.

Loki,
Welcome!
I love your choice of the Norse God of Mischief as an avatar.
I also appreciate your willingness to share a little of yourself as you start your participation on the Tolkien Forums.
I am just a member here. But nonetheless, whatever I can do please feel free to ask either in the chatbox, private message, or in any thread.
We would love to hear how you became interested in Tolkien - his work - and this forum ...
Again,
Welcome!

Loki, welcome to the Forum. I guess you must have run into materials the Professor took from Northern Mythology, especially in the Prose Edda from which he drew for his writings.
Loki is referred to as the father of Váli in the Prose Edda. Maybe Vali inspired the term Vali, as in fem. Valar I guess he could have gotten the idea for the Meara from Sleipnir, Lord of all Horses.

I am looking forward to your posts.

I feel that it's my responsibility to explain something. I have been inactive due various reasons and once I was able to spend time here I'd forgotten my account details. In order to gain access again, I made account as a Loki to contact One and regain my account information as a Lord Tulkas.
I apologise this but also I'm thanking for nice replies to welcome new member. Seeing that we have members welcoming others is a nice thing.
Account Loki will be closed after this explanation and this will serve also as announcement that Tulkas has returned.

Lord Tulkas,
Welcome back.
Thanks for explaining the "Loki" situation.
Seems it was a creative response to a "tricksey" problem.
I look forward your posts and ideas.

Welcome back Lord Tulkas. I am glad that at least somebody of the Admins has shown up again. I been "Unclosing" the "Closed" threads which Eonwë had closed. Have you had any contact with any of the other Valar?

My discussions have been limited between me and the One. Takes time to get back to speed.

I understand, I was gone for a while myself. But I am glad we are all coming back
