Just me, Anorlas, saying hi! Been reading Tolkien since the 70s. Fell in love with Mithrandir and Alrond in the Hobbit. Didn't discover the Lord of the Rings intill much later but it was a treat. It has become an interest that never fades. I am only sorry that Tolkien can no longer delite us with more of his world. Especially his Elves.

Welcome to the forums, Anorlas!! It's always nice to get long time fans that join. I'm sure we will have a lot to learn from each other. Take your time, look around and don't get overwhelmed. Anorlas, Welcome! Sounds like you and I started reading Tolkien about the same time. It is sad that Tolkien has crossed into West. But you'll find people here who bring his works to life. There are some simple games that we use to pass the time. And you will see people putting out topics where everybody's input is welcome. lomoduin offers some sound advice, "Take your time, look around and don't get overwhelmed." Let me add to her invitation,"if you need anything just ask." Ask on the forums or if your more comfortable with private message just click on our names, leave a message, and we will get right back to you. Again, Nice to meet you! Welcome! Bear an Elf-Friend

As Iomoduin said, this board is very large and it can be hard to keep track of where conversations are going on. I would recommend using the "Most Recent Posts" link at the top right of the screen. It will show you what threads people have been posting in lately. Feel free to post wherever you like, but if you want to find a topic that is active right now, that's the quickest way. There is also a "chatbox" at the bottom of every screen when you are logged in where you can have quick conversations with people who are online at the same time as you are.
Hello to both NEW and returned OLD peoples. I don't think we have met Secret Fire. Welcome to the Forum Anorlas and welcome back Secret Fire. I agree with all the advice given by my friends. Just relax and enjoy the ride.

I joined a few years and ago and made a fair amount of posts (~60), but then I forgot about this place for about two years. I remembered it, but not where it was! I happened by lucky chance to stumble upon it when googling Tolkien stuff.
I look forward to posting again - there are a lot of incredibly intelligent, insightful people here.
Thank you Bear. It is so nice to find like minded people. Finding people who are interested in Tolkien is soooo hard. Thank you for being here for people like me.
Thank you, The Secret Fire. I think I am going to have fun exploring here. I will certainly make an effort to use the chat box feature. It would be nice to chat with you folks.
Fili, even with the simplest of comments you have me searching the web. I had no idea what marmite was. Thanks for teaching me something new every time you post.
lol according to my research, though brief TSF, that is exactly what it is. Beer, yeasty extract. I would try it once. I think that one of it's marketing ploys is "you either like it or love it"
