RPG Suggestions

This is a repost of a post in the OOC for the Barahir RPG. I wrote this to encourage the newer players to post on a regular basis and to maybe interact on a verbal level. I think the site would benefit from RPG Guidlines and RPG Training. It is important to understand the story background and I think the whole story needs to be written by the person who started the RPG. A GM needs to know where the story is supposed to go, to direct the players. Like my Gildor just went and found Gorlim in hiding near the outer perimeter of the campground. TM might not want him found. A good GM would make it clear that he would not have Gorlim lurking in the shadows if he wants us to start a search for him.
If I overstepped my boundaries, please forgive me.

I have a suggestion. People who commit themselves to a part in an RPG, should posssst at least once in 24 hours. Also the GM should post updates as to descriptions of what is going on. Like what has been going on in the story and which way he wants the thread to go. Information as to what time of day it is, how long they have been there etc. It would also make more sense if everybody would write at least 3-5 lines. Somebody needs to describe the camp site, the things that go on in it, ie. camplife. What they do all day etc. This RPG feels sort of flat and shallow. I mean they need to keep in training, do chores and eat, interact with each other. It's no good that Beren only talks to Barahir and not to one of us. They were companions. Companions talk to each other. Please give me your feedback.

We do need to expand the RP part of this forum but I don't think its possible with the amount of RPers at the moment. All we can do is keep it ticking over until we have more RPers to make the Roleplay more formal and organised.

I will send some Emails to people I know like to RP and are good. Maybe I can convince them to join. It does get discouraging when you have to wait for players to continue. But everybody needs to make a commitment to post at least 1 small paragraph daily. It is frustrating for those of us who have made time, just to find out that the RPG is stuck. Waiting for a player to post. Please forgive my frustration MoS.
