New Calendar of the Month

I posted a new CotM on:

www.tolkiencalendars.com

It is an interesting calendar in that it is not supposed to exist!

August CotM

Created a new Calendar of the Month for August on the homepage of:

www.tolkiencalendars.com

It is a rather rare calendar . . . especially in the original "baggie." Didn't realize that I had not posted since April.  So the May, June, and July CotMs have come and gone.  But the illustrations, instead of being featured on the homepage, become a permanent feature of the entry for that calendar.  Last month was the 1977 "Calendar of Imladris."  Check out its entry (last in the 1969-1977 list) and you will now find a link (the green title of the calendar) to those illustrations. Many others are now found throughout the listings.  Hope you enjoy it and comments welcome!

Happy Summer to all!

Away from The Green Hill Country,

Parmastahir

Novembre CotM and Other Calendars

Hello to all -

Updated the Calendar of the Month for Novembre (not a typo!) at:

www.tolkiencalendars.com

Hope you enjoy it. Also, added a page (which is very much under construction still) for the 2010 issues that have started coming out.

Also, my daughter and I will soon print the 2010 HI/NETS calendar (now the third in this series.) Malcolm will have some for the exhibition at ADC in March, and René will have some on his Tolkienwinkel site, too. And Beyond Bree (as members already know) will issue their first calendar since 1994 for 2010 (many thanks to Lotho Sackville-Baggins) and in color, too!

Away from The Green Hill Country,

Parmastahir

RE: TOLKIEN CALENDARS

As I updated the Calendar of the Month on New Year's Day, it's probably about time that I put a quick note here that I did so (before January ends and the February CotM is up!)

www.tolkiencalendars.com

Hope all are enjoying the winter. (Although I have been accused of being a Northern Hemisheroid and forgetting that not everyone has short days and snow! So I'll wish everyone a wonderful January.)

Parmastahir

January CotM

Hello to all!

Hope your holidays were wonderful.

Posted the January Calendar of the Month at:

www.tolkiencalendars.com

It is a classic (and relative rarity) from Beyond Bree.  That group celebrates its 30th anniversary in April.

Parmastahir

RE: TOLKIEN CALENDARS

Hello from the Texas Hill Country. Parmastahir, good to see you again, although we miss you during the rest of the year, you are appreciated and loved by all of us Tolkien fanatics.

Tell me how much one of those Calendars cost and if there are still any available because I still don't have a 2011 Tolkien calendar

Hello Arwen Legolas -

Hail and well met! With apologies for my absence, I would like to know to which calendar you refer? If you are looking for the annual JRRT calendar, the 2011 featuring the works of Cor Blok is still available (eBay, Amazon, etc.) If you are looking for something a bit more unusual, you may consider the 2011 Heren Istarion/Northeast Tolkien Society issue featuring the works of Anke Eissmann and Sue Wookey (with cover by Jef Murray.) Done in Shire Reckoning format. And Beyond Bree issued a 30th anniversary calendar (edited by Daniel Smith.) I collected two copies of both!

As to my absence, I'm not certain why I don't post here more often. I will have to pay more attention to do so when I change the Calendar of the Month feature on my website.

Thanks for posting (and sentiment!)

Away from The Green Hill Country,

Parm

Wow, that Heren Istarion sounds really good. How much does one have to peel out to own it? I hope it is not too expensive. The other problem is, we cannot order online because of too many unauthorized debits from our accounts. DO they take checks?

I went and looked at the site. It looks like a nice calendar, but right now it's a little too much for me.

Hello to all -

Just posted the Calendar of the Month for April at:

www.tolkiencalendars.com

This one is special to me as I had the great opportunity to work with three very talented illustrators to create it. Hope you enjoy it. Happy Spring to all!

Away from The Green Hill Country,

Parm

p.s. -  With this feature, the illustrations of fifty of the 341 calendars that I have catalogued now appear on my website.  Slowly but surely, all of them will someday be available.

June CotM

Happy Summer to All -

Posted the June Calendar of the Month at:

www.tolkiencalendars.com

It is the latest HI/NETS calendar and features the works of Jef Murray, Anke Eissmann, and Sue Wookey.  This one commemorates the 10th anniversary of HI/NETS and has a distinctly Middle-earth feel to it (not that the preceeding issues in this series have not!)  Enjoy!

Away from The Green Hill Country,

Parm

January CotM

Hello to All -

Updated the Calendar of the Month feature for January at:

www.tolkiencalendars.com

Not to spoil the surpise, but thought it appropriate to feature a calendar with illustrations done by JRRT himself as his birthday occurs in January.

Am back after an unexpected hiatus.  Had BIG problems with my host/server and was worried for weeks that it had disappeared.  But a colleague recovered it, switched hosts, and backed it all up for me.  (Isn't it always whom you know rather than what?)  For which, I could not be more grateful.  It was a wonderful Christmas present!

Happy New Year to all!

Away from The Green Hill Country,

Parmastahir
