It seems that we occasionally have some friendly personal exchanges in the lore forums. While it is appreciated and keeps the tone of the Forums very friendly, it would be nice if those exchanges which do not add to the discussion were removed once per week.

I fully agree. Many remarks remain in some threads, remarks that should not exist in a Tolkien related forum. Of course it is up to the Ainur to take care of this matter, but it is for the One to decide I guess.
If you don't mind losing posts, that's probably a very good idea. The One won't be available for a little while, but I'm sure the Ainur will think it over and decide.
I personally don't mind losing posts. I think that will only be a concern for any in the Forums who have posted a lot of extraneous chatter, without adding or participating in a given discussion.

I do not think its a very good idear for one. At least not until we have far more posts and topics to boast. Pray that you would resist in cleaning up old threads until we have many more, oh great Valar.
I have to agree with mos here. Its important to have quality but also quantity. At present we should still be trying to build up the threads and making them, not deleting them.

firstly, I doubt this is a drastical decrease in quantity, most of the posts were made to the point, however some are of no need at all. the number of the posts that should be deleted realted to the number of total posts is however relatively small secondly, it is in the same time a substantial increase in quality. without the unnecessary posts, the threads are much better then before
I don't think it was proposed that we should delete threads, just some slightly off-topic posts within the threads, which lead away from the discussion and dilute the quality of what is being posted, making it harder to follow. I don't think this would significantly reduce the quantity of our threads, unless you lot have been spamming them up a lot more than I have noticed so far.
