As we all know, there were only a few important female characters in Tolkien's books, but those few are to remember for their courage,strength,beauty,goodness,honour...
which female character has made most influence on you?which one did "crawl under your skin"?:)
how did you imagine all of them, and which one was the most beautiful in your imagination?
Luthien Tinuviel is the one that I will most remember. The woman who sacrifised everything for the man she loved, and did things that no man of her time dared.
She was also the most beautiful child of Iluvatar ever,so I would say that she could be the most important female character. Even to Tolkien himself.
I also very much like Aredhel ofcourse,I imagine her as a very beautiful elf, and she was also very brave, she was ready to give her life away for her son.
Yavanna and Varda are for me,the two most important of the Valier, and also most beautiful of the "god ladies"
Eowyn is also a very brave and heroic character, with pride and honour and strong will to defend the people she loves.
I would personally say Galadriel, because she is really a special person of course Luthien and Arwen as well because they had the courage to give up their immortality but still I would say that more then all others I liked the River-daughter
I would choose Éowyn, she's most alike to me. I don't look like her at all, but in fact there is someone quite similar to Grima in my life, who poisens one member of my family. I just hope that there will come some knights (Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Gandalf) and get this greedy creature away. And maybe I will get the chance to fight against my own Witchking of Angmar. I hope so.

I would most definetly have to say Eowyn, because like Arwen, and Luthien (except she didn't get the man she originally wanted) she put herself out a lot to have the man she loved notice her, hoping he would love her. She was brave. Always wanting to go to battle, protecting her city, and never giving up. Also, she was just as beautiful, and strong as (most of) the other women (expetions like Galdriel, and Luthien)
Eowyn, definitely. I felt that she was a female character that really had something to her, maybe because she was one who had strength and courage to go to battle for the ones she loved. I was also touched by how she healed and found hope again, when she fell in love with Faramir. Galadriel of course was also a strong character in every sense, but I don't think she had such an effect on me, (let's face it, Eowyn kicked the Witch King's ass, she's a very cool lady.) I think at the time I first read TTT, I was going through stages of some sort of angsty teenage depression, I can't remember the details really, but I kind of empaphised with her and felt like I understood her really well. Arwen just seemed like the pretty one to me, hehe, though that's probably unjustified.
Arwen is definetely the girlie-girl, just like Rosie Cotton Any Eowyn is indeed a great personality in the story But, it is hard to say which female character way the greatest...I mean by what standards...??? All played an important part, even though in different moments of history and in different circumstances...
