For the Man's B-day I watched a National Geographic biography piece on him I had found on Netflix. It took us from his childhood to The War to Oxford and how he gathered some inspirations for his epic tales. It was quite informative (Narration done by Ian Holm) especially when it came to the inspiration for the sacrificial tower built in Numenor with a dome of Silver as figured in the Silmarillion. Apparently there was a building much like it on-campus in Oxford somewhere!!!
