Music

My first post/question. Does anyone know if any of the poems in any/all of the books have been set to music. And I don't mean the music in the movies (I love the Rankin/Bass songs) but real sheet music that I can buy and plunk out on the piano. I'd love to see the Lay of Luthien in music form as well as many of the other songs/poems.

Hope I did this right...

It could be worth checking out YouTube, I'm sure there must be something there even if they only have the more common songs and poems.

id say to create them yourself! Hmmm, a bit difficult once you get going lol. Yes youtube is a good start or google for that matter. Many a time has google showed me what I thought didn't exist.

Laurelin,

I have seen sheet music for at least one of the poems;
"The Road Goes Ever On And On" by Donald Swann. You can google it and I even think(not positive) it is on Amazon.

There have been many interpretations done by popular bands (lots of Folk Grunge type stuff) and have listened to some interpretive pieces like "Into the West" from the movies.

These to pieces might give you a lead towards better sources.

Good lLuck!

Bear

Thanks all! I don't know why it didn't occur to me to use Google. (Still in the dark ages when it comes to computers.)

I found the a whole book on Amazon by D. Swann. I have to figure out how to preview the music now.

And sadly I am not musical enough to write my own. How I wish I was!
