What about Belladonna (Took) Baggins?

This thread is about Belladonna (Took) Baggins.
"Mother of Bilbo Baggins. Belladonna Took was born in 2852. She was one of the 12 children of Gerontius, the Old Took, and his wife Adamanta Chubb Took.
Belladonna and her sisters were considered remarkable among Hobbit-lasses. She settled down when she married Bungo Baggins and moved into the luxurious Hobbit-hole called Bag End that he built for her. But she passed on some her Tookish adventurousness to her only child Bilbo, who was born in 2890.
She died in 2934.
Belladonna was known and respected by Gandalf the Grey. "
(Thanks to The Thain's Book ~ http://www.tuckborough.net/baggins.html )

While this entry gives us the basics about Bilbo's mother it also leaves some open spaces that I would like your help to explore.
1) Under what criteria was Belladona and her sisters remarkable among Hobbit-lasses?
2) How and under what circumstances did Belladonna win Gandalf's respect?
3) What was her "Tookish adventurousness"?
4) How did Bungo come up with the capital to build her Bag-End?
5) What kind of Mom was she to Bilbo?

I'll have to think over these questions, bear. Is 'the Hobbit' the only source of information on Belladonna Baggins?

Glorfindel,
Most of what I have found has been through lists, appendixes, and web links.
I would gladly explore further if you have any suggestions.
Do you old friend?

The only thing I recall being said about Belladonna Baggins was in The Hobbit, with the odd snippet in Lord of the Rings. I could have a look through both books and quote everything here, while you do the same with the any info in the appendixes? That way the information will be in one place and it will be easier to give an opinion.
