Hello All, I'm the daughter of a member on here (I'm not saying who just yet), and I'm joining because he's such a big fan of these forums. When I was a kid, he recited (from memory) the stories of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. It took several long car rides to get through it all. My own Tolkien knowledge isn't great, but I'm sure I'll learn as I go. I myself am a seminary student in Chicago (so close to that masters!), and will probably be spending time on here while I avoid my thesis. Look forward to meeting many of you and having some great discussions.
Hello Meredith, how are you? It's nice to see you join the Forum. Now we got a Mother Daughter and a Father Daughter team on the Forums. I am sure you will do just fine. I am so glad you joined us. TEll us a little about which of Tolkien's Books you have read yourself, and not absorbed by osmosis.

Shieldmaiden, So nice to see you here. Looking forward to your questions and fresh perspective. I might suggest choosing a ranking kingdom as soon as you feel comfortable. I think you will fall as much in love with this place as I have. There are so many areas here to learn from. To check how it works go to the main forums page, find the topic Elven lore, and look at the topic "Basic Elf".
