New Here

Hello! I'm new here, and finding that this forum's layout is a bit confusing to navigate. I hope to spend some time here, since I'm a HUGE Tolkien fan.

HelenisMyLuthien,
Welcome! This is a wonderful place to share your enthusiasm and knowledge about Tolkien. This is a place to expand your knowledge, play, and make friends with other Tolkien fans.
I think it might take a couple of visits to feel your way around but don't hesitate to ask someone for hints or help. This "Forum" has special members called Valar and Maiar who are here especially to help.
They really will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and get you involved if thats what you want.
I've been active here since April 2008 and really like it here. Feel free to check out member profiles to get to know folks.
Utterly Miscellaneous Forum has a thread called "Getting to Know You" posted by one of our esteemed members,The Might. It is a great way to let people know who you are and what your interests are. Use as much of it as you want or as little as you want for your Profile and welcome.
Maybe a couple of questions will help you get started.
Who is your favorite Tolkien character?
Your favorite book?
How did you find the "Forums"?
Do you have a special interest in Elves or Dwarves or any other races?

Welcome aboard and join the fun.
Nice to meet you!
Bear an Elf-Friend

Welcome to TF! You might want to choose a kingdom to belong to - think you can find the link on the link bar thing at the top of the page.

I'm sure you'll get used the the forums, its quite easy. Each catagory has a number of forums in for example:

Catagory = Races of Middle-earth
forums in that catagory = 4, Men, Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits

Each forum will have topics in which relate to that forum.

Hope to see you in the discussionssmile.gif

Welcome mellon, do you mind if I call you MyLuthien? It is rather a long name you have chosen.

The easiest thing to do MyLuthien, is to click on the "Most Recent Posts" right below your name, and that gives you all of the most recent posts. That's what I normally do. This way I know what is active. We are starting a new RPG, and you are just in time for it. We are still picking characters. It plays in the First Age, The Fifth Battle of Beleriand, the one in which Gondolin fell. We'd love to have you.

Hello, Helenismyluthien!! My husband and I have been debating which Helen you're refering to. That could be something interesting to begin your journey here with. I am one of the newest members of the forum and while I come and go, depending on my job and responsibilities to my family, I love this forum because the discussions are serious and diverse. The difference in opinion and points of view is amazing and eye-opening. I hope you enjoy and hope to hear from you soon.

Always around,

Lomoduin

P.S.

To the others: I'm not sure if my name means "weary" river spirit or "lazy" river spirit. HEE HEE
