Got something in your mailbox?!

I know for some would sound painfully 'Plaza-thing' but I was thinking of a post office for our forums as well. And for some reasons (though TM or Celethil and others might find it a cool idea) I shall not make any further step until I hear an opinion from a mod.
I have something prepared already how the whole thing would work out but I'm not willing to post it until I have a ... list of loyal supporters who will constantly show interes.
See you around

I'm not exactly sure what you intend to do, but I will be available.

Well, I was expecting such question from you since I've heard it before and I'm not going to explaine while you could simply use your imagination in order to get pieces of what will be about to become our mail service center. Stop being leazy instead of creative and use your imagination. Tolkien would want that.

TM thank you for your availability. I was counting on that.

Hmm this indeed does sound interesting but I cannot possibly think of what it could be...something to do the receiving messages somehow perhaps..

Well, it's quite simple. You write a letter, a normal one with title, body and end and the mail service will attach whatever it needs for your letter to reach its destination. For that all users willing to enter the game must have a permanent residence (which of course will be imaginary) and whom to write. If it wasn't for Yahoo and Hotmail, how would you keep in touch with your friends from Japan?
Therefore, basically you need an adress and lots of lust for writing letters.
Mouth of Fauron, Glorfindel1235 you kind of asked the same thing which normaly should make me ... but you two see the difference betwen the posts? And therefore I was happy to reply. Well, maybe you didn't get my point; I'll be explicit. A question can bother, a lot sometimes, but the manner you ask it can give the question such shape you cannot resist it and actualy adore its master for being polite and charismatic. Two ways ... one reaction ... (congrats Glor, you do have a way with words )
Poke me if you wish.

Alas...I am not as gifted with words as Glorfindel.

So we all write letters on the computer to eachother to a permananat address? Do you mean and email address or a Private message? The latter would probably be better.

So is this done via private messaging, or on the forums?

MOS since you're on a forum that requires words, many of them I say, you do have a way with words; we all do. Here is mostly of what we do, type words. And you're gifted. I've seen it before.

TM you're right. Is a RPG. Is played here and you stay IC (in character) you can build a totaly new person or you can keep your own name. You must have a residence in ME and write a letter with all normal formalities: date, dear..., name, body, end and maybe singature. What you did already was a good example.

However, as I said in my first post I'm not ... anything yet until a confirmation from a mod that the RPG is not 'harmingly' for the members.

Firstly, thank you for defnitely clearing up what this thread is about for all members
Secondly, no I personally don't intend to start my own forum, not yet anyway. As I am underage it would be a little more complicated as far as money issues are concerned, and anyway my time and financial situation don't allow it at the time. Perhaps in a few years when I will go study, or afterwards, I might consider doing that, until then I am happy to remain a member.

When you'll study, you'll have less money. ... speaking from my own experience but was good to ask. And yes, the thread is for all members but the last part of the message was for you. Therefore ... (I aford a 'deautsch Erfahrung'). I asked because I want to start some simple forum design in colaboration with someone that can bear some of the tasks. As I heard you have some knowledge regarding HTML, CSS and others ... but pitty ... Well, enjoy your membership

there are however many good German speaking forums you can join
I myself am not a member of any on them, but I know people who are
I can't personally recommend any, but a quick Google search might help you there

but as I said, as far as working on an own project, no matter which language, I am not quite available at the moment
as far as money is concerned, I believe you on what you said

You think I don't know that? If I wanted I could have been on all of them long time before you even suggested but the problem is that there are no better Tolkien related sites as those in English and I am really trying my best to use my linguistic skills in order to sway some fine conversations in here.

I agree, especially because English was the language the books were written in, and having the original quotes and original texts is much better in my opinon then having a translation, no matter how close it is to the original
