A star shines on the hour of our meeting

A good morning to you all. I'll leave it to you to interpret my meaning. I've been a fan since I read the LOTR in 4th grade, shortly followed by the Hobbit and the Silmarillion in 5th grade. Since then I've become more and more fascinated by the world of Arda. I recently recieved the first half of the History of Middle Earth collection for my birthday and look forward to reading them. I have a great many questions, most of them concerning the history of Arda before the events in the Hobbbit and the Lord of the Rings, although my knowledge is far from complete in either of those two areas. I'm also fascinated by the languages and writing systems Tolkien created, and have a great many question about those as well. Well that's about it. I'm going now, goodbye.

Yep, it is German. Actually the whole line is a quote from Blazing Saddles as a spoof on Cabaret. Two great (and wholly unrelated to JRRT) movies.

Interesting, I've heard of Blazing Saddles but not Cabaret.

Thanks for the welcome Glorfindel and Anorias. Everywhere I go on this forum people are wishing me welcome. This is possibly the friendliest site I've yet found, in my days of roaming the Internet.

ArwenLegolas, I regret to say that I know only a spattering of elvish, most of it pertaining to the names of the great battles of the first age. I'm also somewhat aquainted with the Fëanorian letters, as well as the Cirth. Anyway, would you mind translating your last sentence into English?
