Being a newbie

I was thinking. I am a newbie and I want to make a good start. But before I can or should post I am supposed to read the rules, the FAQs to explore the forums and make sure I post in the right place. But this requires time and afraid of getting bored I just skip these simple but usefull steps and start immediately posting.
I want to make myself remarked, I do something huge, I don't want to be an anonymus anymore so I just brake a rule or I post a thread in a wrong forum. This must draw atention from the mods.
People know each other already, they use a sort of slang language typical just for this forum so how can I introduce myself so that to feel accepted? I have some ideas however.
1. I take my books, I post as many quotes I can and comment them and so people will think I'm a lore master. This must work.
2. I make use of my fancy words, my high linguistic skills will surely impress.
3. I make sure I always agree with the mods and other users that have way far more points and experience than me eventhough I may not always agree with them. This was I will assure their sympathy and I'll have a good reputation.
I'm afraid I'll make a wrong step and people won't forget that soon because in a forum with enough users there always be a competition where everyone will try to reach the top and stay there.
I'm afraid people will try to intimidate me just to make sure the things will stay the same and honestly it doesn't makes me feel any better if I'm welcomed in my first day and tomorrow they ignore me. I had ideas which have not been taken into consideration and I wanted to do so much more but you're looking at me as if I were speaking mandarin.
I feel like everyone is way to nice to me. Just wait untill tomorrow. My, I do am confused and I look around hoping that someone will turn his/her face to me  and show me a sincere smile and show me around not to show of that she/he is kind with the newbies but because she/he has time and wants to share it with me. I don't get any reward for being innocent and lost just the same you don't get any reaward for being someone you don't really are.
But it makes me feel usefull being confused and akward for giving you the opportunity to make yourself usefull showing me around but the truth is I don't need a hero.
From many points of view I am very dissapointed about this whole thing. On the other hand however, it helps me realize how important is the starting and how should I make it. I do need saved but not in the way you become a hero.
If you have any thoughts about it I will consider my mission succesfull. And if you don't, don't worry. I must have not explaine myself good enough. In the end, I learned my English from TV.

I guess there is a lot of truth in those words Rumil.
There are many cases of people agreeing with mods even though they might have a different opinion. Few speak up to say what they want, and usually they get banned.
Anyway, you're also right about how friendly others really are. There are really few people with which you can really tie a friendship rather then just have a normal relation. On big sites there already are certain groups of older members, and it's pretty hard to get their approval and be accepted in one of them. Usually they pretty much tolerate you and let you be. But to really get to know them...you need a lot of time.

I am a little confused as to what the main points are in this though. Could someone clarify what is meant by this thread?

Interesting thoughts Rumil. I however fail to see the purpose in this.
